That's the story of Sword of Fargoal. One might say it's a bit of a short, poor story for an RPG game, but some RPGs just don't need more to be charming, and this game definitely is a charmer.

The concept is simple: Explore a dungeon, going from floor to floor, hacking your way through monsters while getting stronger, collecting enchanted swords, magic bags and a whole range of spells and avoid traps. Get the Sword of Fargoal and bring it back within time.

That's what the original 1982-83 Vic20/C64 Sword of Fargoal was about. Did anything change in the remake? Well, for one, you can play it on a PC or a Mac instead of on a Vic20 or a C64. Another change is that you can select and combine several graphical settings. You can play with the original graphics or combine several enhanced graphics. Aside from that, the remake stayed true to the original, which means it's incredibly addictive and fits both coffeebreaks as whole nights of gaming.

If you have an evening you want to spend on a fun, quick-to-learn RPG, or if you have to wait til the kitchen floor's dry after mopping it, you'll lick your fingers in delight on this little gem.
